Making a Difference. Being Informative.
Founded by three friends with a passion for fitness and helping our local community, Salt Warriors is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization of Warriors on a mission to help local charities, local families and local organizations in need. 100% of our proceeds benefit our community and local families of Southwest Florida. Our objective is to create and operate unique events that inspire people to get involved; partnering up with local charities and non-profits gearing each event to them so we can raise money and awareness for each of their respective missions. These events can range from fun runs and adventure races, to scavenger hunts and dodgeball tournaments on the beach.
Picture this: It was just a normal Friday night. 3 best friends sitting out on the patio with good wine, good food and good conversation. As many conversations do, we began talking about ways that we could “quit our jobs and work for ourselves”. 4 bottles of wine and tons of domain searches later, we came up with the name Salt Warriors and the basic idea that we were going to start a “fun run” company and do all of our events on the beach. Seeing that it is quite an untapped market in our area, we couldn’t help but selfishly think how profitable it would be and how life changing it could be for our own families.
Fast forward almost exactly a year from that day. It’s March 2014, Todd and his wife are pregnant with their second child. Their perfect world temporarily crashed down when the doctor explained that their son was going to be born with Spina Bifida. As Todd hit Facebook to ask his loved ones for support, he began to notice a trend. Seemingly, his entire newsfeed were friends and family asking for prayers for themselves, their kids, their pets, their parents and their friends. That’s when it clicked: we don’t just want to pray for our families, we want to be an answer to a prayer. What if Salt Warriors could be used to help people in need – right here in our community?
From that moment on, our name had an entirely different meaning. It became part of us, and without thinking twice we were Warriors fighting for those around us. In June 2014, our domain name went from a .com to a .org and we have never looked back. We are and always will be a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization raising money and awareness for local charities, local non-profits and local families in need. Finally, we have an answer to the age old question, “How can we help?”, and we wouldn’t have it any other way..
